Easter

Our Easter bunny
All is well and spring is here.   A glorious Easter weekend meant local beaches were full so the dogs and I stayed away, apart from an evening trip to Hope Cove for beer with Lois when she finished work.
And on Tuesday we enjoyed a gloriously quiet afternoon at South Milton.
It has taken me a while to settle. I have to remember why I have made this move and be thankful for every happy moment I experience.   💫

I have arrived.  The journey down was tough for me but after a couple of days I feel less anxious and a bit settled.
The first thing I needed were flowers in the window...of course.   Oh, and shells
And the next was a trip to the beautiful South Milton beach

So our first few days have been tumultuous and scarier than I anticipated but we are getting into a routine and looking forward to the end of gales.   Mattress arrives tomorrow so bedroom is next mini project.    And continuing with job hunting.   ❤️

I am embarking on an adventure.   A well planned, exciting and terrifying adventure.
I am a 52 year old widow and mother of 4 and I am taking myself and my dogs to a new home, job and lifestyle in beautiful South Devon for 6 months.  Me and a girl I work with  (more of Lois later!) have rented the above property and now all the paperwork is done I leave Kent and my home on Monday 11 March to make the 5 1/2 hour journey south west. Hopefully by Tuesday I will have a mattress!
I want to record this for myself and my children. But it will also hopefully help me move forward into a new chapter after nearly 3 years of grief.  I feel the need to reflect and review after throwing myself into long tiring hours of work and running a home alone and this summer is for that, and beaches, and fun.
I have long loved the area around Kingsbridge with its lovely dog friendly beaches and stunning countryside.  We holidayed there as a young family often.  I know this cannot be a long holiday as I will be working to pay for 2 homes but I think work has kept me going and been really important to my mental, emotional and physical health.  It is the between time which I need, somewhere new, and I intend to enjoy every moment of it.
Wish me well.   Kate  ❤️
